How to care for your Audvik coat

Photo en noir et blanc d'une femme cherchant un manteau Audvik sur un des portants de l'atelier.

Since 1979, Audvik coats have been entirely manufactured in Montreal from carefully selected materials, including fabrics made from recycled plastic bottles and high-performance insulation such as Exkin® Air, PrimaLoft® Black, and Fellex-Sorona® Bio-Warm Core.

Designed to offer warmth, comfort, and performance, they are made to accompany you for many winters. To preserve their technical properties and extend their lifespan, proper care is essential.

A few simple steps are enough to maintain the effectiveness of the fabrics, membranes, and insulation, while preserving the appearance and performance of your coat, season after season.

Taking care of your Audvik coat means extending its longevity, preserving its comfort, and contributing to more sustainable consumption.

HOW TO WASH YOUR AUDVIK COAT?

Step 1: Pre-treat stains

  • Use a mild soap (e.g., Marseille soap) to remove stains;
  • Close all zippers;
  • Remove the fur and detachable hood (if applicable);
  • Turn the coat inside out.

To preserve the quality and durability of your Audvik coat, it is recommended to start by gently treating stains with a mild soap, such as Marseille soap. Before washing, make sure to close all zippers, remove the fur and detachable hood, if applicable, then turn the coat inside out.

Step 2: Cold water wash

  • Wash in cold water;
  • Use a specialized soap, Granger’s;
  • Always wash the coat inside out.

Your Audvik coat should be washed in cold water, using a specialized detergent such as Granger's soaps, which are designed for technical apparel. The coat should always be washed inside out to protect its materials and finishes. Bleach should be avoided as it can alter the fabrics and colors.

We do not recommend entrusting your Audvik coat to a dry cleaner, as dry cleaning processes can alter or damage the garment's technical membrane.

Designed to withstand the most demanding winter conditions, your coat offers reliable and durable protection against the elements. To preserve and optimize its performance over time, we recommend applying a water-repellent treatment, such as Granger's, once a year during washing.

Step 3: Drying

  • Air dry;
  • Lay flat to preserve the coat's shape;
  • Do not iron;
  • Do not wring.

For drying, prefer air drying, laying the coat flat to maintain its original shape. It is important not to iron the coat, dry clean it, or wring it, as this could damage its structure.

Step 4: Storage

When the season changes, we recommend storing your coat in a coat cover to protect it adequately until its next use and away from sunlight.
