Being a fanatic of outdoor expeditions, I love discovering Quebec's unusual accommodations. Indeed, I spent the night in a Wagon de Berger, in Labelle, inspired by the original Victorian habitats of those who, in the past, protected and kept sheep. No but isn't it all beautiful?
This cabin on wheels is located on the edge of the Red River next to a henhouse that produces fresh eggs in the morning. If it’s not a 5 star lunch, I don’t know what it is!
We arrived around dinner time to eat in front of the beautiful landscape as well as to watch the sunset. It was a bit chilly, but we had our Audvik hats from the new 2019/20 collection (available online very soon) which were my gosh, super comfortable and suitable for a night out in the wild!
At Kayak-Cabana, there are several activities that can interest all types of people to spend a visit. Whether you want to stay in the cabin, or outside, there are several options available to you. Le Wagon de Berger is so well appointed that it can cook just about anything! All you need to do is bring your own food, sleeping bag, and a good bottle of wine to fully relax! Also, board games specially handmade by Kayak Cabana are at your disposal in each accommodation!
Plus, what's really cool about this little getaway is that you can go down the 8 to 23 km long Red River, either by SUP board, kayak or canoe, depending on your fitness and your time! The view and the fresh air were just inspiring and this activity definitely made me want to discover more unusual places like this. The autumn that is slowly emerging makes us love these temperature changes and makes us realize how lucky we are to have 4 beautiful seasons.
Don’t hesitate in the comments to suggest places and activities to put on our list! We love to weather all of our Audvik products!
